Maintenance Rates & Services
Please Note: Normal hours of operation are 9:00 am to 7:00pm Monday through Friday. Any service provided outside these of these hours are considered 'after hours' calls; however, we are on-call 24/7 and will accommodate you. We will respond to your aquarium emergencies!!!
Basic service $40.00/hr
Involves cleaning all glass surfaces inside and outside the container,removing plants (if possible), cleaning plastic or silk plants, cleaning bedding medium (gravel), cleaning filter, and cleaning or changing filtration medium as necessary, testing and balancing water (materials & chemicals extra).
Two-week Partial Water Change $40.00/hr
Involves partial servicing of pet(s) container, roughly 10% to 25% of water is removed and replaced with fresh water, filter medium is hecked and either replaced or cleaned as necessary, water test & balance (materials & chemicals extra).
Water Testing Call-Out $20.00
Water testing call-outs are for water testing only and are usually included in other services (chemicals extra).
Filter Clean $40.00/hr
Involves cleaning and servicing filtration unit(s) (materials and chemicals extra) (minimum 1 hr charge).
New Aquarium Set-up $40.00/hr
We will come to your home and set up any new or existing aquarium equipment you may have, fill the tank using household water, and condition the water to accept new pets. This is usually can extended process that may involve several visits to ensure a proper environment for your pet(s) as cycling water usually requires 6 to 9 weeks (materials and chemicals extra).
A-la-Carte Service by quotation
This may involve picking-up and establishing new pets in your habitat, repairing leaks, disassembling equipment & removing pets, administering medications to tanks… etc. If you have something you want done – call and ask if we can do it!
Vacation Services & Rates
Thinking of going away on business or vacation? Don't trust that the next door neighbour's kid will have enough knowledge to deal with any situation that may arise while you're absent? Concerned that you may return to a '300-gallon-flood', or a bunch of 'floaters'? Then let us 'tank-sit' while you're away!
Tank Sitting Services $50.00 / day flat rate
'Weekend Warrior' Package $80.00 Saturday & Sunday included
Weekly rate $250.00 (includes 1 maintenance & cleaning session)
* All services include feeding your aquatic pets, and water chemistry tests, as well as mail / newspaper pick-up. Weekly packages include a gravel vacuum, 15% to 20% water change, glass cleaning, filter maintenance and water-treatment chemicals (where necessary), in addition to the above. 'Weekend Warrior' package is available for Holiday long-weekends at no extra cost. (Please call for details and scheduling/availability).
Leasing Rates
Have you ever thought of introducing 'wet pets' to your home or office? Why not 'test-drive' an aquarium or terrarium before truly getting your feet wet?
Freshwater Aquarium $3.50 per gallon / month + GST + setup labour.
Minimum lease term is 6 months.
Saltwater Aquarium $7.50 per gallon / month + GST + setup labour.
Minimum lease term is 6 months.
What is included in my lease?
All lease agreements include the tank & stand, equipment, ornaments to match your decor or theme, bi-weekly maintenance visits, emergency calls, livestock (fish) and any chemicals/medication administered during the active lease term.
What is NOT included in my lease?
Setup labour for the tank, tear down labour for the tank, frequent re-design or replacement of tank decor or livestock, damage - either intentional, or unintentional to the tank, equipment or livestock (additional fees may apply for particularly damaged equipment and replacement costs assessed for livestock deceased due to neglect or deliberate mistreatment).

Are you having a problem finding something for that 'hard-to-buy-for' person? If they have an aquarium, why not give them the gift of time? Now you can prepay your service visits and buy a gift certificate for aquarium maintenance in the form of a punch-card.
Each 'punch' on the card includes 1 hour of tank servicing and all necessary chemicals for the job. (parts, livestock and media are extra)
Available gift certificates are as follows:
Single Service Certificate good for 1 hour + chemicals = $40.00*
5-Hour Punch card $200.00 (includes chemicals).*
10-hour Punch Card $360.00 (includes chemicals + 1 free hour).*
20-hour Punch Card $720.00 (includes chemicals + 2 free hours).*
*All Clear Aquarium Services reserves the right to refuse any and all work if necessary and refund on a pro-rated basis any monies spent on punch-cards. Each punch on the card is redeemable for 1 (one) hour of tank servicing and chemicals needed to maintain your aquatic environment, including testing, medications and water conditioners. GST is applicable to the above listed prices at time of purchase.
Extra Information for Aquarists
We can pick-up and deliver new pets, food, chemicals or materials to your home for market prices plus a fuel surcharge & handling fee.
Some servicing may require more than one visit and may involve interruptions to service due to supply levels or, specific aquarium needs. wherever possible we will try to eliminate these interruptions and you will only be charged according to the time spent on your pet habitat (i.e.: if we need chemicals we won’t charge you for the time spent going to get materials.) unless it is at your specific request (fuel surcharge & handling fee).
Aquarium cleaning and servicing times may vary depending upon ease of access to equipment, and size and shape of equipment. The average hobby aquarium takes 1-4 hours to service completely and properly.
All regular services are offered at a cost of $40.00 per hour (with a 1-hour minimum call-out), emergency or ‘after hours’ services may be subject to a $50.00 call-out surcharge in addition to regular rates. Missed appointments without advanced notification are subject to the one-hour minimum.
We accept cash, cheques (with proper identification), certified cheques, money-orders, or all major credit cards online through PayPal (ask for details.) All Payments are due at time of services-rendered.
